Real Madrid are set to pay £88.5m (€100m) to sign Eden Hazard from Chelsea FC in the summer transfer window, according to a report in England.

The Guardian is reporting that Hazard is on the brink of a much-anticipated move to Real Madrid following months of speculation surrounding the Belgian star.

The same article states that Chelsea FC and Real Madrid finally settled on a fee on Wednesday night following lengthy negotiations between the two clubs.

According to the same story, the La Liga outfit and the Premier League side are preparing the relevant contracts to conclude Hazard’s transfer to the Spanish capital.

The 28-year-old won the Europa League for the second time in his Chelsea FC career last week after Chelsea FC were 4-1 winners against bitter rivals Arsenal in Baku.

Hazard netted 16 times in the Premier League to help Chelsea FC to secure a third-placed finish in their first season under Maurizio Sarri.

The Belgian forward has won two Premier League titles and the number 10 was he named as the PFA player of the year for his performances in the 2014-15 season.

Hazard was unable to fire Chelsea FC to Champions League glory during his seven seasons at west London despite reaching the semi-finals in the 2014-15 season under Jose Mourinho.
