Jordan Henderson praised Jurgen Klopp for creating a special atmosphere in the Liverpool FC dressing room after the Reds won the Champions League on Saturday night.

Liverpool FC had beaten Bayern Munich, FC Porto and FC Barcelona to reach the Champions League final in what has been a brilliant season for Klopp’s side.

The Reds made the breakthrough in the second minute in Madrid when Mohamed Salah scored from the penalty spot after Moussa Sissoko handled the ball in the Tottenham area.

Liverpool FC didn’t look to push forward in search of a second and the Reds were content to soak up pressure from the north London side.

Virgil van Dijk had to make a vital interception to deny Son Heung-Min in the second half, while Alisson Becker saved Christian Eriksen’s free-kick.

Substitute Divock Origi doubled Liverpool FC’s advantage with his third goal in two Champions League games to seal a 2-0 victory.

Liverpool FC captain Henderson paid tribute to Klopp’s impact at Anfield.

“Without this manager this is impossible,” Henderson told BT Sport. “You go through tough times in a season, but what he has done since coming in is unbelievable.

“There’s such a togetherness, he has created a special dressing room – all the praise goes to the manager.

“I’m so proud to be a part of this football club and to cap it with this is so special to me.”

Henderson was named Liverpool FC captain in 2015 after Steven Gerrard quit the Merseyside outfit to move to LA Galaxy.

The former Sunderland man became the first Liverpool FC captain to lift the Champions League trophy since Gerrard.

And Henderson was delighted to win the competition after a difficult start to his Liverpool FC career following his move in 2011.

Henderson added: “I just try to give my best every time I play football and to help my team no matter what. I’ve had tough times but I’ve kept going – just as this club has.

“It’s the best moment of my life, this is what I dreamed of since I was a kid.

“It’s not about me, it’s not about me being captain or lifting the trophy, it’s about this club, these players, this manager. Now we must keep going and kick on.”
