Liverpool FC are still interested in a deal to sign Nabil Fekir from Lyon this summer but they could face competition from Manchester City, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Express is reporting that Manchester City have asked to be kept informed of developments as they look to strengthen their attacking options this summer.

According to the same story, the 25-year-old Fekir is set to leave Lyon in the summer transfer window.

Fekir was strongly linked with a move to Liverpool FC last summer and he was believed to have come close to signing for the Reds before the proposed deal fell through.

The same story says that Lyon are prepared to cash in on Fekir this summer after the move to Liverpool FC fell through following the results of a medical.

It is claimed in the same story that Manchester City are interested in Fekir, but that the Citizens’ priority is a defensive midfielder.

Meanwhile, Liverpool FC are currently celebrating having won their first major trophy under Jurgen Klopp after they beat Tottenham Hotspur to win the Champions League final on Saturday night.

Goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi netted a 2-0 win over the Lilywhites in Madrid in the final.
