Liverpool FC interested in 23-year-old Turkish midfielder – report
Liverpool FC are interested in a bid to sign Turkish midfielder Dorukhan Tokoz from Besiktas this summer, according to a report
Liverpool FC are keeping tabs on Besiktas midfielder Dorukhan Tokoz, according to a report in Turkey.
Turkish media outlet Fotomac, as quoted by HITC, is reporting that the Premier League side are monitoring the 23-year-old in the 2019 summer transfer window.
The same article states that Liverpool FC have competition from Serie A side Udinese after the Italian club submitted a £6.25m bid for the Besiktas midfielder.
According to the same story, Besiktas are holding out for a transfer free closer to £9m, an asking price that shouldn’t prove too taxing for Liverpool FC to meet.
Tokoz scored three times and made four assists in 20 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig last season to attract apparent interest from Liverpool FC and Udinese.
The 5ft 11ins midfielder has also scored once in five appearances for the Turkish national team following his goal in a 2-1 loss to Iceland in their Euro 2020 qualifier earlier this month.
Liverpool FC are bound to be linked with a host of players this summer as the Champions League winners look to bolster their squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
The Reds were crowned European champions earlier this month after Liverpool FC were 2-0 winners against Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid thanks to goals from Divock Origi and Mohamed Salah.
