Liverpool FC are closing in on the signing of FC Zwolle defender Sepp van den Berg, according to a report in England.
Website Goal is reporting that Liverpool FC are in the market to sign the Netherlands Under-19 international in the summer transfer window.
The same article states that Liverpool FC will face competition from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich as well as Dutch clubs Ajax and PSV Eindhoven.
According to the same story, Liverpool’s head of recruitment Dave Fallows and chief scout Barry Hunter are looking to get a deal over the line for the 17-year-old.
The report goes on to add that the Reds have a reputation for signing promising Dutch talents over the past few years following Ki-Jana Hoever’s arrival last summer.
Liverpool FC have a strong Dutch presence at the club after Virgil van Dijk and Georginio Wijnaldum moved to the Reds over the past three years under Jurgen Klopp.
Van Dijk has established himself as the best defender in the Premier League at Liverpool FC after the Netherlands star forged a defensive partnership with Joe Gomez and then Joel Matip.
Liverpool FC won the Champions League last term thanks to a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the final.
