Liverpool FC won’t sell 31-year-old despite Premier League interest – report
Liverpool FC aren't interested in selling Simon Mignolet this summer, according to a report
Liverpool FC are not planning to sell Simon Mignolet in the summer transfer window, according to a report in England.
ESPN is reporting that Belgium international is attracting interest from Premier League side Crystal Palace ahead of the start of the 2019-20 season.
The same article states Liverpool FC are hoping that Mignolet will remain at Anfield despite the opportunity to pursue a new challenge.
According to the same story, Mignolet has remained the “ultimate professional” since Alisson Becker completed a £67m move to Liverpool FC from Serie A side AS Roma last summer.
ESPN go on to say that Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp and his coaching staff are all eager to see Mignolet remain at the Champions League holders beyond the summer.
The report adds that the Merseyside outfit haven’t placed an asking price on Mignolet as Liverpool FC don’t want to part company with the 31-year-old shot-stopper.
Mignolet moved to Liverpool FC in a £9m deal from Sunderland in the 2013 summer transfer window to replace Pepe Reina.
The Belgian goalkeeper has been prone to consistent mistakes throughout his Liverpool FC career.
Mignolet lost his first-choice status to Loris Karius in the 2017-18 season before Liverpool FC signed Alisson in a big-money deal last summer.
