Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to hold showdown talks with Man United star – report
Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is planning to hold showdown talks with Romelu Lukaku next week, say reports
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is planning to hold “showdown” talks with Romelu Lukaku when the striker returns to Manchester United for pre-season training next week, according to reports in the British media.
Metro is reporting that the Belgian forward is expected back at Carrington on 1 July as he begins his pre-season preparations for the new campaign.
Lukaku’s future has been a source of speculation this summer, with the Belgian having been touted as a target for Inter Milan in recent days.
The 26-year-old lost his place to Marcus Rashford in the Manchester United team towards the end of last season and it remains to be seen what the future holds for him at Old Trafford.
According to the same story, Inter Milan remain “keen” on trying to sign Lukaku this summer as they look to bring the forward to Serie A.
However, the article also says that Manchester United will be looking to recoup the £75m they paid for Lukaku back in 2017 in any deal.
Despite all of the speculation, the same story says that there is still a possibility that Lukaku will remain at Old Trafford.
And the Red Devils will reportedly not make a decision about his future until he has spoken with Solskjaer at Carrington next week.
