Ryan Giggs offers advice to new Man United signing
Ryan Giggs has some advice for Daniel James after his move to Man United from Swansea City was confirmed
Ryan Giggs has urged Daniel James “not to change” after his move to Manchester United from Swansea City was confirmed last week.
The Red Devils confirmed on Friday that they had agreed a deal to sign the 21-year-old midfielder, with the move set to be completed when the international transfer window opens next week.
James is set to become Manchester United’s first signing of the summer transfer window as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to strengthen his squad ahead of his first full campaign in charge at Old Trafford.
Giggs knows James well due to his involvement with the Wales national team, and the former Manchester United midfielder has some advice for the new signing.
Speaking in an interview quoted by Metro, Giggs said: “My advice is don’t change. A club like that is interested in you for what you’ve been doing, so don’t try to be anyone else, don’t try to do anything different.
“He’s not only a fantastic player he’s a fantastic guy as well. Very level-headed. United have got a very, very talented and exciting player.”
He continued: “It’s fantastic for everyone I think – for Dan, for Manchester United, and it’s a good deal for Swansea as well.
“It’s the biggest club in the world so my message to him is enjoy the challenge, don’t be anyone else, and you’ll be fine.”
James scored four goals and made seven assists in 33 Championship appearances for Swansea City last season.
Manchester United are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to strengthen their squad.
The Red Devils are aiming to bounce back from a disappointing campaign in which they finished sixth in the Premier League table and without a trophy.
