Man United fail with £40m bid for 22-year-old West Ham defender – report
West Ham reject Man United's £40m bid for France Under-21 international Issa Diop, according to a report

Manchester United have failed with a £40m bid for West Ham United defender Issa Diop, according to a report in France.
French media outlet Telefoot, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Manchester United are eager to bring the former Toulouse centre-half to Old Trafford in the 2019 summer transfer window.
The same article states that Manchester United made an opening bid of £40m, which would have netted West Ham £18m in profit after the Hammers signed the 22-year-old from Toulouse last summer.
According to the same story, Diop would be open to a move to Manchester United, which leaves the door ajar for a second bid from the 20-time English champions this summer.
The Sun go on to add that Manchester United could return with an improved offer for the France Under-21 international as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to improve his defence.
Diop scored two goals in 38 games in all competitions in his first season at West Ham under the management for Manuel Pellegrini.
The 6ft 4ins centre-half opened his Premier League account with a goal in a 3-1 victory over Fulham in February.
Manchester United have been linked with a number of different centre-halves as the Red Devils look to get a deal over the line this summer.
