Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Red Devils are keen to try and bring the 19-year-old to Old Trafford this summer.
The same story says that Felix is “in demand” this summer but the teenager has a £105m release clause in his contract that is putting off suitors.
The article claims that Manchester United are putting together a proposal which will meet the release clause in stages, with an £80m bid followed by additional clauses which could bring the fee to more than £100m.
However, Benfica president Luis Filipe Viera does not intend to accept Manchester United’s offer, according to the same report.
Felix was in top form for Benfica this season, scoring 15 goals and making seven assists in 26 league games for the Portuguese club. He also netted three times in the Europa League.
Manchester United are thought to be on the lookout for a number of reinforcements this summer as they bid to try and bounce back from their sixth placed finish this season.
