Man United are in talks to sell 29-year-old defender this summer – report
Man United are in talks to sign Matteo Darmian this summer, according to reports
Manchester United are in talks to sell Matteo Darmian this summer, according to reports in the British media.
ESPN is reporting that the Red Devils are looking to offload the 29-year-old Italy international as they look to revamp their squad ahead of next season.
According to the same story, Spanish side Valencia and two unnamed Italian clubs are interested in signing defender Darmian this summer.
Darmian only started five Premier League games last season and made a total of seven appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils, so it is no surprise he is being linked with an exit from Old Trafford.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to have sanctioned a bid to try and bring Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Old Trafford this summer in a move which would make Darmian’s role even more peripheral.
The story says that Manchester United will allow Darmian to leave the club this summer but the Red Devils will ask for a fee.
According to the same article, Valencia and two Serie A clubs have already made formal approaches to try and sign the Italy international this summer.
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League and without a trophy last season.
