Man United offered the chance to sign 26-year-old – report
Man United were presented with the chance to sign Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi in exchange for Romelu Lukaku, according to a report

Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi, according to a report in Italy.
Sky Sport Italia, as reported by Metro, is reporting that Inter Milan are reluctant to meet Manchester United’s asking price for Romelu Lukaku.
The same article states that the Serie A giants have already offered Manchester United the chance to sign Ivan Perisic in a player-plus-cash deal but the offer was rejected.
According to the same story, Inter Milan have since offered a player exchange involving their captain Mauro Icardi and Lukaku but the Red Devils have also rejected that proposal.
The report goes on to make clear that Manchester United don’t plan to settle for less than their £80m asking price for selling Lukaku in the summer transfer window.
Lukaku has struggled to find his best form since the Belgian forward moved to Manchester United in an £80m deal from Everton in 2017 summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old has netted 42 times in 96 games in all competitions over the past two seasons at the 20-time English champions.
The Belgian forward struggled to break into the Manchester United team under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the final months of the season.
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table following a 2-0 loss to Cardiff City on the final day of the campaign.
