Sky Sports reporter: Real Madrid boss ‘desperate’ to sign Paul Pogba from Man United
Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth reveals Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is eager to sign Paul Pogba from Man United this summer
Zinedine Zidane is desperate to bring Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba to Real Madrid, according to Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
The Red Devils star has been heavily linked with a move to the 13-time European champions in the transfer window so far following Zidane’s appointment at Real Madrid back in March.
World Cup winner Pogba struggled to produce consistent performances throughout the 2018-19 season under both Jose Mourinho and his predecessor Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Manchester United star has fuelled speculation surrounding his future after he admitted that he would like a new challenge in his career at the weekend.
Sky Sports News reporter Sheth has now revealed that Real Madrid boss Zidane is desperate to bring Pogba to the Spanish capital to bolster his midfield ahead of the new campaign.
“We’re getting news from Spain that Zinedine Zidane is desperate to bring Paul Pogba to Real Madrid,” Sheth told Sky Sports’ Transfer Talk podcast.
“Zidane has been an admirer for as long as we can remember. I’m sure if Real Madrid and Juventus are genuinely interested, Man United are in a better position rather than if one club was interested. They can create a bidding war.”
Pogba moved to Manchester United in an £89m deal from Juventus in the 2016 summer transfer window after four successful season in Turin where he was the Serie A title four times.
The France international helped Manchester United to win the Europa League and the League Cup in his first season back at Old Trafford but the club has finished the last two campaigns without silverware.
Manchester United ended up in sixth place in the Premier League table last term.
