Manchester United are considering a move to sign Frankfurt striker Sebastien Haller as a replacement for Inter Milan-bound Romelu Lukaku, according to a report in England.

The Daily Mail is reporting that the Red Devils are looking to secure a transfer fee in the region of £80m for Lukaku, which would see them recoup the majority of their outlay on the Belgium international.

The same article states that former Chelsea FC boss Antonio Conte is eager to sign the Premier League striker but the Inter Milan manager hasn’t been told whether the San Siro outfit will have the budget to bring in Lukaku.

According to the same story, Manchester United scouts have earmarked Haller as a potential replacement for Lukaku after the 24-year-old netted 15 goals in 29 games in the Bundesliga last term.

The Daily Mail go on to add that the Red Devils have made a concrete bid for the French striker, who has been linked with a switch to Everton in the past.

Manchester United are set to compete in the Europa League next term after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side finished in sixth place in the Premier League table.

The Red Devils lost 2-0 to Cardiff City in their final Premier League fixture of the season to cap what was a disappointing campaign.
