Ramon Calderon has warned Real Madrid that Eden Hazard will not come cheap in the summer transfer window.

The Chelsea FC playmaker is widely expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer and finally secure a move to Real Madrid after having been heavily linked with a switch to the Bernabeu for some time.

Hazard is set to enter into the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge, meaning that he could potentially leave the club for nothing next summer if he remains.

Sky Sports is reporting that Chelsea FC value Hazard at £130m, but Real Madrid are hopeful of landing him for no more than £88m this summer.

Now, former Real Madrid president Calderon has warned the Spanish side that he does not expect the Blues to drop their valuation of the Belgian playmaker.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Calderon said: “It seems Hazard is coming and that is really good news for Real Madrid.

“I think now it is a matter of money. The player has said clearly that he wants to leave and he wants a new challenge.

“It is not fair to keep a player who has been there for seven years and who has one year left on his contract.

“Of course Chelsea are not easy negotiators. I know that quite well because in 2007 I had a long negotiation with Peter Kenyon at the time and Roman Abramovich about Arjen Robben.

“He was not playing for Chelsea but despite that they said the price was £35m. At that time it was a lot of money. I tried to reduce it many times and we waited until the last minute but finally we paid it.”

Hazard is widely regarded as one of European football’s top attacking talent.

He scored two goals and was named as the man of the match as Chelsea FC claimed an impressive 4-1 win over Arsenal in the Europa League final on Wednesday night.

The 28-year-old scored 16 goals and made 15 assists in the Premier League to help Chelsea FC finish third this term.
