Alexandre Lacazette says Arsenal should be focused on finishing in the top four next season and not winning trophies.

The north London side endured a trophyless campaign last term as they finished in fifth place in the Premier League table and without a trophy last term.

Arsenal missed out on the chance to book their place in next season’s Champions League when they lost 4-1 to Chelsea FC in the Europa League final back in May.

The Gunners have not yet won a trophy under new boss Unai Emery – and his first focus will be on guiding the Gunners to a top-four finish next term.

Now, Lacazette has admitted that he thinks that Arsenal should be focused on getting back into the Champions League as a priority above everything else.

Speaking in an interview quoted by the Daily Star, Lacazette said: “A club like Arsenal has to be playing in the Champions League every season.

“We will start to think about winning the biggest titles in a few seasons.

“But first we need to make sure we are in the Champions League consistently again.”

Arsenal have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign.

The north London side have not won a major trophy since their FA Cup triumph under Arsene Wenger back in 2017.
