Arsenal have made a £70m bid to try and sign Nicolas Pepe from Lille this summer, according to reports in France.
French outlet Telefoot, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Gunners are on the lookout for a new attacking player this summer and Pepe fits the bill.
According to the same story, Arsenal have now submitted an official offer for Pepe and the bid is being considered by the French club’s hierarchy.
The 24-year-old is thought to have attracted plenty of interest this summer after an impressive season for Ligue 1 side Lille last term.
The Ivory Coast international scored an impressive 22 goals and made 11 assists for Lille from 38 Ligue 1 appearances for the French side.
According to the same story, however, Pepe himself has not yet made a decision about his future – and he would prioritise a move to Paris Saint-Germain if it became available this summer.
Arsenal are thought to be on the lookout for a number of reinforcements this summer as Unai Emery prepares for his second season in charge at The Emirates.
The Gunners have so far only brought in Gabriel Martinelli this summer as they look to try and break back into the top four next season.
