Italian website Gianluca di Marzio, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Napoli have agreed a £72m deal with Lille to sign the Ivory Coast international this summer.
The same article states that Lille president Gerard Lopez has confirmed three other clubs have also reached an arrangement with the French side for Pepe.
According to the same story, Arsenal are thought to be one of the clubs to have struck a deal with Lille after having been linked with the forward throughout the summer.
The report goes on to say that Pepe’s agent is eager for the Lille winger to move to Arsenal because he’ll receive a bigger “commission” from the north London side.
Arsenal have been in the market to sign a wide player all summer but the Gunners have so far been left frustrated in their pursuit of Ivory Coast international Wilfried Zaha.
The north London side signed Saint-Etienne defender William Saliba, Brazilian teenager Gabriel Martinelli and Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos on loan in the current transfer window.
The Gunners finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last term to miss out on a place in the Champions League for the third successive season.
