Wilfried Zaha wants to move to Arsenal so the Crystal Palace winger can prove that he can succeed at one of the world’s biggest clubs, according to Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol.

The Ivory Coast international has been linked with a move to Arsenal throughout the summer transfer window so far but a deal has failed to materialise.

Arsenal were reported to have made a number of tentative offers for Zaha earlier this month but the bids all fell below Crystal Palace’s valuation of the Ivorian winger.

Zaha has established himself as one of the best wingers in the Premier League over the past couple of seasons following a return of 19 goals and eight assists.

The 26-year-old struggled to perform during a brief stint at Manchester United earlier in his career before his return to Crystal Palace as a Red Devils flop.

But Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol revealed that Zaha has a desire to move to one of the Premier League’s leading clubs once more to prove that he can succeed at the top level.

Solhekol wrote on Twitter: “Wilfried Zaha has no issue with Crystal Palace or Roy Hodgson. Because of what happened to him at Manchester United (2013-2015) he feels he needs to prove to himself that he can do it at one of the world’s biggest clubs.”

He added in a second tweet: “Arsenal is Zaha’s personal preference but even if he doesn’t move there, it won’t stop him wanting to play on the biggest stages. He wants to prove to himself that he can be the biggest player at a big club.”

Manchester United signed Zaha’s former Crystal Palace team-mate Aaron Wan-Bissaka in a £50m deal this summer.
