Frank Lampard has revealed that Callum Hudson-Odoi is ahead of schedule as the Chelsea FC attacker looks to return from injury as soon as possible.

The teenage attacker has been sidelined since suffering an Achilles injury towards the end of last season and requiring surgery to fix the problem.

Hudson-Odoi has been working hard on his recovery behind the scenes at Cobham as the England international looks to make himself available to new Blues boss Lampard as soon as possible.

Chelsea FC fans will be eager to see the 18-year-old back in action for the Blues as soon as possible.

And now, Chelsea FC manager Lampard has revealed that Hudson-Odoi is ahead of schedule on his road to recovery.

Asked about Hudson-Odoi’s recovery, Lampard said: “He’s not training with us yet but the injury is coming on ahead of schedule.

“There will be a period for Callum where his injury is fine but then he needs to get fit to play in the team because it’s going to be very demanding with the way I want to play from front to back.

“He’s not far away and I know he’s done everything throughout the summer with our medical team to get back quickly.”

Hudson-Odoi found his first-team appearances to be limited in the first half of last season under Maurizio Sarri but he was handed a more regular role in the first team in the second half of the campaign.

The Chelsea FC youngster is still yet to sign a new contract with the Blues, and his current deal is set to expire at the end of this season.

Chelsea FC will begin their Premier League season with a trip to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United on 11 August.
