Frank Lampard will have final decision about key Chelsea FC star – report
Chelsea FC manager Frank Lampard will make the final decision about Willian's future at the west London side
Frank Lampard will have the final say on whether Chelsea FC hand Willian a new deal, according to a report in England.
The Daily Express is reporting that Willian hasn’t linked up with his former Blues team-mate and the rest of squad in Japan due to an extended break after his participation at the Copa America.
The same article states that Lampard wants to see Willian in training before he makes a decision about the 30-year-old’s long-term future at the west London outfit.
According to the same story, La Liga champions FC Barcelona are interested in a £30m deal to bring Willian to the Spanish giants to add more depth to their squad.
The Europa League winners are traditionally reluctant to hand long-term deals to players over the age of 30, the report continues.
But the Daily Express go on to say that Chelsea FC’s two-window Fifa transfer ban means that Lampard can ill afford to lose any players with an inability to sign replacements.
Willian scored two goals and made six assists in 32 games in the Premier League last season.
The Blues star has won the Premier League twice as well as the FA Cup, League Cup and the Europa League during his six-year stay at Stamford Bridge.
