The Merseyside outfit came within a whisker of winning their first ever Premier League title last term but came up short when they ended up a single point behind champions Manchester City.
Liverpool FC still managed to finish their campaign on a positive note after they sealed a 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final at the start of last month.
The Reds will have their sights firmly set on going one step further in the Premier League next season as they look to beat Manchester City to the title.
And Liverpool FC owner Henry has admitted that the Merseyside outfit have their sights set on the Premier League trophy.
Speaking in an interview quoted by Sky Sports, Henry said: “To me winning in Europe is bigger than winning in England but I think it’s true the fans want it.
“I know we’re going to be focused on winning the Premier League next year.”
Reflecting on last season, he continued: “Our guys gave it their all from the first day of the season to the last. It’s a long season, they played up to their capabilities and just gave so much effort.
“It didn’t matter who the opponent was, they out-ran every opponent and I felt they deserved to walk away with a trophy.
“We walked away with the biggest one so I’m very happy.”
Liverpool FC’s Champions League triumph represented their first trophy under Jurgen Klopp following his appointment at the club back in October 2015.
The Reds will be looking to regroup and make a positive start to the new campaign next term as they look to establish themselves as one of the favourites for the title.
