The Reds have drawn one and lost three of their last four pre-season games and they suffered a comprehensive 3-0 defeat by Napoli in Scotland on Sunday.
Liverpool FC have been without some key players, however, with Mohamed Salah, Alisson, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino all still on holiday following their international exploits this summer.
The Reds have also been without Xherdan Shaqiri and Naby Keita, who have been struggling with injuries.
Liverpool FC will take on Manchester City in the Community Shield at Wembley on Sunday afternoon as they look to lay down a marker for the season ahead.
And Klopp has insisted that his side will be able to step their game up when the season begins.
Speaking in an interview quoted by Sky Sports, Klopp said: “Missing six players is strange. You lose players during pre-season, we’re used to that happening from time to time, but this year they are not even starting from the beginning and coming a couple of days before or after we start the season, it’s not good.
“But that’s how it is, we prepared everybody as good as possible.
“We have to fight at the start for the season 100 per cent, with all we have, and if opponents want to analyse us now they’ll think easy job, but we’ll be a different animal next week.”
Liverpool FC will commence their Premier League title challenge when they take on Norwich City at home on 8 August.
The Reds finished in second place in the Premier League table and just a point behind Manchester City last term, before winning the Champions League.
