Sky Sports News reporter gives update on Liverpool FC transfer plans
Liverpool FC will not be making any big-name signings this summer, says Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol
Liverpool FC will not be making any big-name signings this summer, according to Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol.
The Reds have been linked with a number of names but have so far only signed teenager Sepp van den Berg in the current transfer window.
Liverpool FC earned plenty of praise for their fine displays last season as they won the Champions League and ended up in second place in the Premier League table.
Most Reds fans would probably agree that Jurgen Klopp’s squad is pretty strong as it is heading into the new season, but there is still the chance that Liverpool FC could make some signings before the transfer deadline next month.
However, Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol has now appeared to rule out the chances of Liverpool FC making any big-name acquisitions this summer.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Solhekol said: “The information we have from our reporters in Liverpool are that Liverpool won’t be making any Galactico type signings this summer.
“What they may need to sign is a back-up left-back as Moreno has left, maybe a back-up right-back if Nathaniel Clyne leaves and maybe a back-up goalkeeper if Simon Mignolet leaves.
“Lots of ifs and buts, but no Galactico type signings for Liverpool this summer.”
Liverpool FC came within a whisker of winning the Premier League title last season as they ended up second and just a point behind Manchester City.
The Reds will now be focused on going one step further in the Premier League as they look to try and win their second major trophy since Klopp’s appointment at Anfield in October 2015.
