French media outlet L’Equipe, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Lille star has his heart set on a summer move.
The same article states that Pepe is eager to move to Liverpool FC despite the Reds’ attempts to distance themselves from the speculation.
According to the same story, the 24-year-old is still hoping that Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain might make a late bid for the Ivorian winger.
The story goes on to suggest that Lille will ask around £70m for Pepe in the summer transfer window.
Pepe scored 22 goals and made 11 assists in 38 games in Ligue 1 last season to catch the attention of a host of Europe’s top clubs.
Liverpool FC have been quiet in the summer transfer window so far following the addition of one player to their squad ahead of the new season.
Sepp van den Berg completed a £1.9m move to Liverpool FC from Dutch side FC Twolle last week.
Liverpool FC won the Champions League for the sixth time last month after a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final in Madrid.
