Man United finally set to sign 26-year-old – report
Man United are finally set to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City, say reports
Manchester United are finally set to wrap up a deal for Harry Maguire after making a breakthrough in talks with Leicester City, according to reports in the British media.
The Independent, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Red Devils are closing in on a deal to land the 26-year-old defender after weeks of speculation linking him with a move to Old Trafford.
According to the same story, a move is now “imminent” after Manchester United were able to structure a proposal to sign Maguire in a way that Leicester City deemed acceptable.
The same article says that the deal will include around £10m worth of conditional clauses – and that the player himself has made it clear that he wants to leave the King Power Stadium this summer.
Should a deal go through, then Maguire would become Manchester United’s third signing of the summer transfer window, with the Red Devils having already tied up deals for Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Manchester United will be aiming to try and break back into the top four next season after they finished in sixth place and without a trophy under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last term.
