Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers isn't worried about Man United's apparent interest in Harry Maguire
Brendan Rodgers has insisted that Leicester City aren’t worried about Manchester United’s interest in Harry Maguire.
The Red Devils have been linked with a move to sign the England international throughout the summer transfer window so far.
Manchester United are thought to be in the market to sign a centre-half this summer to bolster their defence.
Leicester have been widely reported as asking for in excess of £80m for the 26-year-old English defender.
Manchester United have already spent nearly £70m on new signings this summer but it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils will cough up a huge transfer fee for Maguire.
Leicester manager Rodgers insists he is feeling relaxed about Manchester United’s apparent interest in Maguire.
“He’s been brilliant since the first day of pre-season,” said Rodgers, as quoted by the Leicester Mercury.
“There’s a lot of speculation around Harry but he’s just got on with it. Like I’ve always said, we’re all pretty relaxed with it.
“We’re looking to prepare the whole team and squad and Harry’s a part of that. He was excellent today, he’s working very hard.
“There’s no discussion. I know you guys are looking for updates but there’s no change from the other night.”
Manchester United conceded more goals than Manchester City and Liverpool FC in the Premier League last term.
The Red Devils have Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo to rely upon at centre half.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will start the new Premier League season with a home clash against Chelsea FC on 11 August.
The Red Devils will be looking to improve upon a disappointing 2018-19 season in Solskjaer’s first full season in charge.
Manchester United have signed Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer.
