Italian website FCInterNews, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that the Red Devils have submitted an offer to sign Arsenal’s Gabon international as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku.
The same article states that the Belgian forward is on the brink of a £75m move to Inter Milan following a disappointing two seasons at the Manchester outfit.
The report goes on to state that Inter will pay £60m up front before £15m in add-ons dependent on Lukaku’s performances for the San Siro outfit in the next three seasons.
According to the same story, Arsenal are set to reject Manchester United’s £62m bid as the Gunners look to keep the Premier League’s joint top-scorer at The Emirates.
Manchester United have only singed British players in the summer transfer window so far as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to bolster his squad ahead of the new season.
The Red Devils started their summer spending spree with the £18m addition of Swansea City midfielder Daniel James in June.
The 20-time English champions went on to land Crystal Palace full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka in a £50m deal earlier this month.
Manchester United have released Antonio Valencia and Ander Herrera this summer.
