Man United could hijack Tottenham’s bid to sign 22-year-old – report
Man United are interested in Tottenham target Tanguy Ndombele, according to a report in France
Manchester United could hijack Tottenham Hotspur’s bid to sign Tanguy Ndombele this summer, according to a report in England.
French media outlet L’Equipe, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Spurs have agreed a fee with Lyon to sign Ndombele.
The same report adds that the Champions League runners up haven’t yet settled on personal terms with the France international.
According to the same story, Manchester United could make a late bid to sign Ndombele from under the noses of Tottenham.
The report adds that the 20-time English champions have held talks with Lyon but a move for Ndombele also depends on Paul Pogba.
Manchester United would be likely to make a serious effort to sign Ndombele if Pogba were to leave Old Trafford this summer, the story claims.
Tottenham are looking to sign their first player in over 18 months after Spurs were the only club in Europe’s biggest five leagues not to recruit an outfield player.
The north London side finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to continue their record of finishing in the Champions League places under Mauricio Pochettino.
Spurs lost 2-0 to Liverpool FC in the Champions League final at Wembley last season following goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi.
