Victor Lindelof has insisted that he is still committed to Manchester United despite being linked with a potential switch to FC Barcelona this summer.

The Red Devils star has been touted as a potential target for the Spanish champions over the past week or so following a promising 2018-19 season at Old Trafford.

Lindelof’s agent Hasan Cetinkaya fuelled the transfer speculation after he confirmed that FC Barcelona wanted to recruit the Sweden international this summer.

The Manchester United centre-half is currently on tour with the rest of his club team-mates in Australia ahead of the start of the new Premier League season.

And Lindelof was quick to reaffirm his commitment to Manchester United.

“I’m very, very happy to be a Manchester United player and I’m really looking forward to this season to start and very happy here,” Lindleof told the Daily Mirror.

“That’s my answer to that.

“I always felt like a Manchester United player but last season was a better season for me, I performed better than I did in my first, pretty.

“I’m happy that people think that [he’s the best central defender at the club].

“I’m just trying to do my best every day and that’s what I work hard for every day to help the team and the club, so yeah.”

Lindelof moved to Manchester United in a £30m deal under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s predecessor Jose Mourinho in the 2017 summer transfer window.

The Sweden international initially struggled to adapt to life at Manchester United following a number of high-profile mistakes.

However, Lindelof was Manchester United’s best defender last season under both Mourinho and Solskjaer to earn plaudits for his improvement.

The Red Devils will be looking to improve upon their sixth-placed finish last season after Manchester United missed out on Champions League football for the fourth time in six campaigns.

Manchester United failed to win a trophy for the second successive season last term.
