Michael Owen is backing Liverpool FC to beat Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday evening.

The Merseyside outfit are sitting at the top of the Premier League table thanks to three successive victories.

Liverpool FC passed their first significant test last weekend after the Reds were 3-1 winners against Arsenal at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp’s men sealed a comfortable victory courtesy of goals from Joel Matip and Mohamed Salah.

Sean Dyche’s side were held to a 1-1 draw with Wolves last weekend to collect their fourth point in three games.

“Ashley Barnes has scored 13 league goals in 2019 and he continues to impress for Burnley,” Owen told BetVictor.

“Liverpool look sure to face a stiff examination against the Clarets, but they have such quality in their ranks that I believe they will take maximum points back from east Lancashire.

“After their excellent win against Arsenal at the weekend the Reds have won their last 12 league games and I don’t expect this admirable Burnley side to make it 13th time unlucky for Jurgen Klopp’s side, who are taken to go into the first international break at the top of the table.”

Liverpool FC have beaten Norwich City, Southampton and Arsenal in a solid start to the Premier League season.

Klopp’s side won their first piece of silverware of the campaign thanks to a penalty shootout victory over Chelsea FC in the Uefa Super Cup.

The 18-time English champions finished in second place in the Premier League table last term.

Liverpool FC ended up a point adrift of champions Manchester City, having lost one game throughout the campaign.

The Reds will be hoping to go one step better this season to avoid finishing in second place for the fifth time.
