The 20-year-old scored his first Chelsea FC goal in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Leicester City at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.
Mount broke the deadlock in the seventh minute before the promising Blues midfielder came close with two further attempts in the opening 20 minutes.
The England Under-21 international was subjected to some criticism last weekend after Chelsea FC lost 4-0 to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Former Blues manager Jose Mourinho questioned whether Mount was ready to start a game of the stature of Manchester United versus Chelsea.
However, former Liverpool FC midfielder Redknapp was impressed with Mount’s performance in Sunday’s 1-1 stalemate with Leicester in west London.
“There were question marks about Mason last week… I heard people saying ‘is he ready?’ He’s ready, he showed that today,” Redknapp said on Sky Sports.
“And what he gives Chelsea which they haven’t really got in their team is a goal threat and that’s why he picked him today, he made such a difference.
“The finish, I know Ndidi makes a mistake with the second touch and third touch, but once he pounces on him he manages to compose himself and its a brilliant finish.”
Chelsea FC are still searching for their first Premier League win after Lampard took over the reins from Maurizio Sarri in the summer.
The Blues will make the trip to promoted side Norwich City in their next Premier League game at Carrow Road on Saturday as they look to register their first top-flight win of the campaign.
Chelsea FC lost to Liverpool FC in the Uefa Super Cup last week after Tammy Abraham missed his spot-kick in the penalty shootout.
