The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at Derby County working under Frank Lampard but he has now returned to his parent club to link up with the Blues’ new boss once again.
Mount has recently signed a new long-term contract with Chelsea FC and he will be hoping to earn some regular playing time in the Premier League under Lampard this season.
The England Under-21 international will now be focused on impressing Lampard and holding down a regular spot in the starting line-up for the Blues.
And defender David Luiz says that he has been highly impressed by what he has seen from the attacking midfielder in recent weeks.
Speaking in an interview quoted by Metro, David Luiz said: “I think we had the opportunity to meet each other years and years ago when he was just a little kid, 10 or 11 years old, and now to have the opportunity to play with him is great.
“I think he did great when he was at Derby. I’m so happy because I’m seeing a player with a great mentality, great talent.
“Everybody knows he’s got the talent, everybody knows he’s got the goals, but I love to see the way he trains, the way he likes to listen and try to improve.
“I think he is going to be the future of Chelsea – the present and the future – and England for sure.”
Chelsea FC will kick off their Premier League campaign when they take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday 11 August.
The Blues have been banned from signing new players this summer but have still be able to recruit Christian Pulisic and Mateo Kovacic because the deals were set up before the current window.
