Gary Lineker reacts to Chelsea FC’s 2-2 draw with Sheffield United
Gary Lineker takes to social media to offer his reaction to Chelsea FC's 2-2 draw with Sheffield United in the Premier League on Saturday
Gary Lineker took to social media to express his surprise after seeing Sheffield United come from two goals down to claim a 2-2 draw at Chelsea FC on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues started strongly at Stamford Bridge and took the lead in the 19th minute thanks to Tammy Abraham’s opener in west London.
Abraham, 21, then continued his fine form when he drove home a second into the bottom corner in the 43rd minute to put the Blues in control heading into half time.
However, the visitors were not to be quietened, and they pulled one goal back just after half-time through Callum Robinson’s solid finish.
And Sheffield United earned a surprise point when Kurt Zouma accidentally diverted a cross into his own net in the 89th minute.
England legend Lineker was clearly surprised by the result and posted on Twitter as soon as the visitors’ equaliser went in.
Lineker wrote: “Blimey @SheffieldUnited have come from 2 down at Stamford Bridge to level things.”
Lineker had earlier reacted to Abraham’s fine goals in a separate tweet, writing: “2 more from @tammyabraham. All round game is excellent.”
Chelsea FC will look to return to winning ways after the international break when they take on Wolves away from home on Saturday 14 September.
The Blues have taken just five points from their opening four Premier League games under Frank Lampard this season.
