Gary Lineker and Djimi Traore both took to social media to react to Liverpool FC’s 3-0 win at Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

The Reds headed into the game looking to try and regain their place at the top of the table after Manchester City moved into top spot thanks to their 4-0 win over Brighton earlier in the day.

Liverpool FC took the lead in the 33rd minute when Trent Alexander-Arnold’s looping cross was deflected into the top corner by Chris Wood.

The Merseyside outfit then went 2-0 up in the 37th minute after Ben Mee gifted the Reds possession, and Sadio Mane slotted home a fantastic low finish into the bottom corner.

Liverpool FC then made the points secure when Roberto Firmino hit home an unstoppable shot after excellent build-up play by the Reds.

England legend Lineker took to Twitter to joke about Mee’s defending after the Reds’ second goal, writing: “2nd goal for @LFC was all about Mee.”

And former Liverpool FC star Traore expressed his delight at seeing the Reds on their way towards three points, posting: “We stay top of the league. Come on @LFC #YNWA.”

The result maintained Liverpool FC’s place at the top of the Premier League table and extended their winning run in the English top flight to a record 13 games.

The Reds will return to Premier League action after the international break when they host Newcastle United at Anfield on Saturday 14 September.
