Liverpool FC missed out on the Premier League title by just one point last season as Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side were able to retain their crown.
The Reds did manage to end last season on a positive note by beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the Champions League final back in May.
Former Tottenham manager Redknapp feels that Liverpool FC and Manchester City will be the standout contenders for the title this season, but he is also expecting to see Spurs ramp their game up and get closer to the top two than they did last term.
Speaking in an interview with BetVictor, Redknapp said: “I think Man City and Liverpool are obviously strong favourites.
“I also think Tottenham will get closer to the top two this year, so I just only see three teams.
“However, Liverpool may be a bit better value price-wise than Man City.”
Liverpool FC will kick off their Premier League campaign with a home clash against Norwich City at Anfield on Friday night.
Meanwhile, Manchester City will travel to West Ham United on Saturday lunchtime, with Tottenham Hotspur taking on Aston Villa later in the day.
Liverpool FC will also take on Chelsea FC in the Uefa Super Cup on Wednesday 14 August as they look to win their second trophy under Jurgen Klopp.
