The Senegal international scored a superb goal from just inside the box to hand Liverpool FC the lead in their 2-1 win over Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Mane, 27, also netted twice in the Uefa Super Cup victory over Chelsea FC last week and notched the assist for Roberto Firmino’s goal at St Mary’s on Saturday.
It’s fair to say that Mane has started the new season in style, and that’s despite him having not much of a summer break due to his involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Asked to rate his current form for Liverpool FC, Mane told the club’s website: “I’ve been working so hard and will keep on working hard.
“That’s it, I’m just trying to do everything to help my team. And, at the end of the day, the important thing is the three points.”
Mane also lifted the lid on what was going through his head before he rifled home Liverpool FC’s brilliant opener on Saturday.
He continued: “I thought it was really open between two defenders.
“So when I saw Millie [James Milner] I knew he was going to give me the ball, then I saw the man, no-one was close to me, they stood off and I tried to go a bit outside and put the ball inside.”
Mane and his Liverpool FC team-mates will now turn their attention towards their crunch Premier League clash with Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday lunchtime.
Liverpool FC have won their opening two games of the season as they aim to try and lift the Premier League trophy this term.
