Gary Lineker was quick to take to Twitter to react to Alisson Becker’s injury in Liverpool FC’s 4-1 victory over Norwich City on Friday night.

The Brazil international started each of Liverpool FC’s games in the Premier League last season after the Reds finished in second place having conceded a mere 22 times in 38 games.

In fact, Alisson kept more clean sheets than any other Premier League goalkeeper last term in his debut campaign in the English top flight.

The Merseyside outfit signed West Ham goalkeeper Adrian as cover for Simon Mignolet last week after the Belgian goalkeeper was sold to Club Brugge.

However, Alisson was forced off before half-time due to a suspected calf injury to hand Adrian the chance to make his debut ahead of schedule.

Former Tottenham striker Lineker was quick to share the devastating news with Premier League supporters who may have had Alisson in their Fantasy Football team.

Lineker wrote on Twitter: “Thoughts are with all those that have Alisson in their fantasy team at this difficult time.”

Liverpool FC eased to a resounding victory over Norwich City courtesy of goals from Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Divock Origi.

Norwich defender Grant Hanley helped the home side on their way with an own goal in the opening 10 minutes.

Adrian was unable to keep a clean sheet on his debut after Teemu Pikku scored a consolation goal in the 64th minute.

Liverpool FC will take on Chelsea FC in the Uefa Super Cup next week before a trip to Southampton in the Premier League.
