Xherdan Shaqiri has hinted that he could be forced to “find a solution” if the Liverpool FC star can’t secure more first-team minutes at Anfield.

The Reds playmaker was an unused substitute in Liverpool FC’s penalty shootout victory over Chelsea FC in the Uefa Super Cup showpiece in Istanbul on Wednesday night.

Sadio Mane scored twice in Liverpool FC’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea FC after 120 minutes before Tammy Abraham missed the decisive spot-kick in the shootout.

Shaqiri is recovering from a slight niggle that kept him out of Liverpool FC’s 4-1 victory over Norwich City in their season opener at Anfield last week.

The Swiss midfielder has found his opportunities at Liverpool FC limited over the past 12 months or so after he reportedly fell out with his manager Klopp.

However, the German head coach still entrusted Shaqiri with a place in his team for the second half of their memorable 4-0 victory over FC Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals last term.

Shaqiri, though, has conceded that he could be forced to consider his future at the Champions League winners.

“I’m disappointed that I did not play any more,” Shaqiri told Langenthaler Tagblatt, as quoted by the Daily Star.

“Nobody likes to sit on the bench.

“It’s clear that I want more time. I have to look at the situation and find a solution.”

Shaqiri netted six times in 30 games in all competitions last season following his move to Liverpool FC from Stoke City in a cut-price deal in 2018.

Liverpool FC signed Sepp van den Berg, Harvey Elliott and Adrian this summer.
