Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been working with Marcus Rashford personally to help the Manchester United striker reach the same levels as Cristiano Ronaldo, according to a report in England.

The Daily Mirror, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Manchester United manager is undertaking finishing drills with Rashford that helped to turn Ronaldo into an icon at the 20-time English champions.

The same article states that Solskjaer wants Rashford to step up and fill the void left by Romelu Lukaku, who moved to Serie A giants Inter Milan in a big-money deal.

According to the same story, the Red Devils manager is planning to turn Rashford into a clinical striker rather than a winger, where Rashford has been used most of his career.

The Daily Mirror goes on to add that Solskjaer’s sessions involve a lot of one and two-touch finishes – and that they’re also working on Rashford’s ability to make runs from out-to-in.

Rashford started the season in fine form after netting twice in Manchester United’s 4-0 victory over bitter rivals Chelsea FC in the opening weekend.

He then also set up Anthony Martial for Manchester United’s opener in their 1-1 draw with Wolves on Monday night.

Manchester United signed Swansea City winger Daniel James, Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Leicester City defender Harry Maguire in the summer.

The Red Devils finished in sixth place in the Premier League last term.
