Ole Gunnar Solskjaer raves about Harry Maguire at Man United
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer talks up Harry Maguire following his big-money move to Man United
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed his delight at the way Harry Maguire has been adapting to life at Manchester United.
The centre-half has been getting used to life at Old Trafford since his big-money move from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.
Maguire was named as the man of the match when he made his full Manchester United debut in the 4-0 win over Chelsea FC on the opening weekend of the season at Old Trafford.
The 26-year-old will be hoping to help Manchester United to challenge for a top-four finish in the Premier League this season as they aim to try and break back into the Champions League qualification spots.
Maguire’s move to Old Trafford made him the most expensive defender in world football, but Solskjaer has been pleasantly surprised by the England international’s attitude since the switch.
Speaking in an interview quoted by Manchester United’s website, Solskjaer said: “He’s very level-headed. He’s just as composed off the pitch as he is on the pitch.
“He’s experienced, he’s a big presence around the place, he’s smiling and he’s a personality that you like to have around.
“To have a cool head at the back is important. The defenders who are level headed and not too emotionally affected are great to have, for a manager and for a team.
“Harry’s only been here for a little bit more than a week and he’s been very good to have around [the club].”
Maguire will be hoping to feature for Manchester United when the Red Devils return to Premier League action on Monday night with a trip to Wolves.
After that, they will turn their attentions to their home clash against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
