Man United close to signing Christian Eriksen from Tottenham – report
Christian Eriksen is 'seriously considering' a move to Man United from Tottenham, according to a report
Manchester United are closing to reaching a deal with Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen, according to a report in Spain.
Spanish media outlet AS, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Eriksen is “seriously considering” an offer from Manchester United ahead of Thursday’s deadline day.
The same article states that the Red Devils will hand the Denmark international a five-year contract should Eriksen decide to move to the 20-time English champions.
According to the same story, the Tottenham midfielder has been “convinced” that Solskjaer is capable of rebuilding Manchester United in a superpower on the pitch.
The report goes on state that Solskjaer’s good relationship with Denmark’s Norwegian coach Age Hareide could help Manchester United’s bid to sign the Danish midfielder.
AS go on to add that Tottenham want a £60m transfer fee for Eriksen despite the 27-year-old having less than 12 months remaining on his current deal at the north London side.
Manchester United completed the £80m signing of Leicester City star Harry Maguire on Monday, making the England international the most expensive defender in the world.
The Red Devils started their summer spending spree with the £18m addition of Welsh winger Daniel James from Swansea City before Manchester United spent £50m on Crystal Palace full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
