Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes wants to move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer, according to a report in England.

The Daily Mail is reporting that the Portugal international is eager to secure a move to the Premier League side before the summer transfer window shuts.

The same article states that Fernandes has already informed Sporting Lisbon president Federico Varandas of his wish after the pair met last week.

According to the same story, the 24-year-old has his heart set on a move to the English capital this summer.

The Daily Mail goes on to report that Manchester United have been discouraged from signing Fernandes due to Sporting Lisbon’s £64m price tag.

The report adds that the 20-time English champions don’t value Fernandes at more than £35m.

Tottenham broke their transfer record earlier this summer after Spurs signed Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele in a £54m deal earlier in the summer transfer window.

Spurs have also snapped up promising Leeds United winger Jack Clarke in a £10m deal.

Tottenham finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to continue their recent run of finishing in the Premier League’s top four.

Spurs lost 2-0 to Liverpool FC in the Champions League final in Madrid at the start of June following goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi.
