Mark Lawrenson is backing Tottenham Hotspur to ease to a 2-0 victory over Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.
Spurs will be looking to return to winning ways in front of their home supporters in north London following a 2-2 draw with defending Premier League champions Manchester City last weekend.
Tottenham twice pegged back the title holders thanks to goals from Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura to protect their unbeaten start to the Premier League season.
The Lilywhites will welcome a Newcastle side to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium following defeats by Arsenal and promoted side Norwich City.
Steve Bruce’s side have conceded four goals in two Premier League games after Teemu Pukki netted a hat-trick against Newcastle last weekend.
Former Liverpool FC defender Lawrenson is backing the north London outfit to secure a 2-0 win against Newcastle on Sunday afternoon.
“Tottenham are getting used to playing at home now – that usually takes a bit of time,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.
“Meanwhile, Newcastle are still a bit all over the place. They have already lost to Norwich and Arsenal but remember, former boss Rafael Benitez had a bad start last season and they picked things up.
“Steve Bruce has made some new signings and the fans just need to get behind the team now.”
Tottenham finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season to secure a spot in the Champions League for the fourth successive campaign.
Spurs suffered a 2-0 loss to Liverpool FC in the Champions League final in Madrid last term following goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi.
Tottenham were 3-1 winners against Aston Villa at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in their Premier League opener.
