The 18-year-old has not featured yet this season after suffering a season-ending injury against Burnley back in April and requiring surgery to correct the problem.
However, the England international has been working hard on his recovery behind closed doors and recently began training outside at Cobham as he steps up his rehabilitation.
Now, the teenager has revealed that he is finally closing in on a return to action as he bids to make his way into Frank Lampard’s first team this season.
Speaking in an interview quoted by Metro after Chelsea FC’s 2-2 draw with Sheffield United on Saturday, Hudson-Odoi said: “Recovery has gone really well, I feel good so hopefully, I’ll be back after the international break.
“It was something that I was scared would take longer but recovery has gone really well and quick for myself and I’m happy everything has gone to plan.”
Chelsea FC have taken just five points from a possible 12 in the Premier League so far this season under Lampard.
The Blues will be aiming to try and return to winning ways in the top flight when they take on Wolves away from home on Saturday 14 September.
Chelsea FC finished in third place in the Premier League table and won the Europa League under Maurizio Sarri last term.
