Emerson has taken to social media to play down fears about his injury picked up while on international duty with Italy.

The left-back had to be substituted just eight minutes into Italy’s 2-1 win over Finland in their Euro 2020 qualifier on Sunday evening after picking up a minor injury in the opening exchanges.

The injury would have worried Chelsea FC boss Frank Lampard, who has started Emerson in all four of the Blues’ Premier League games so far this season.

However, the 25-year-old has now taken to social media himself to post an update about his situation after the victory over Finland.

Emerson posted a photo of him in action for Italy and wrote the caption: “Very important victory today guys.

“Unfortunately I had a small injury, but nothing serious. Let’s continue like this!”

Chelsea FC fans will be hoping that the left-back will be fit enough to feature when the Blues return to Premier League action after the international break with a trip to Wolves on Saturday.

The west London side are aiming to return to winning ways in the top flight after they were pegged back and held to a 2-2 draw by Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge last time out.

Chelsea FC have only taken five points from their opening four Premier League games.
