The Blues finally picked up their first home Premier League win under Lampard as they secured the three points thanks to Jorginho’s penalty and Willian’s second-half strike.
The victory lifted Chelsea FC up the table and into sixth place as they look to try and at least finish in the top four this season.
Jorginho took the spot-kick for the Blues and he produced a solid performance as he helped the west London side to claim victory in front of their home fans.
The 27-year-old has scored one goal and made one assist in seven Premier League games for the Blues so far this season.
And Lampard singled out the Italy international for special praise after the game, as he pointed to the midfielder as an example for some of Chelsea FC’s younger players.
Speaking at his post-match news conference, Lampard said of Jorginho: “He’s a leader in his personality.
“For whatever reason, people made judgements about him last season but I can only judge what I see in front of me and from pre-season he’s been one of the leaders in the dressing room and on the pitch.
“He wants to win and to show that in everything you do is so important. He does that so I’m pleased with him.
“The young players need to look up to that kind of attitude that he has daily.”
Chelsea FC will now switch their attentions towards Champions League affairs and their trip to Ligue 1 side Lille on Wednesday night.
Their next Premier League game is a trip to Southampton on Sunday afternoon.
