Jordan Henderson talks up Chelsea FC star ahead of Liverpool FC clash
Jordan Henderson says Mason Mount has the "right mentality" to succeed at Chelsea FC
Jordan Henderson has claimed that Mason Mount has the “right mentality” needed to be a success at Chelsea FC.
Mount has been a regular fixture in the first team at Stamford Bridge under Frank Lampard this season and he has repaid his manager’s faith by scoring three goals in five games in the Premier League.
The 20-year-old was forced off in the first half of Chelsea FC’s 1-0 loss to Valencia in the Champions League on Tuesday night but the injury is not as bad as first feared and he could be back available again for Sunday’s showdown with Liverpool FC.
Henderson was on international duty with Mount for England recently and the Liverpool FC captain says that he has been hugely impressed by what he has seen from the young attacker.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Henderson said: “Frank’s done very good.
“I think the way they’re playing is very good. They’ve got young kids but they’re top players, and certainly will be in the future.
“They’ve got huge potential with the likes of Mason already training for England, I can see he’s got the right mentality to play football.
“Technically he’s very good. Everyone can see that he’s hungry to be a very good player and is a very exciting prospect. He’s started the season very well along with Tammy [Abraham].
“They haven’t had a couple of results go their way, with the Sheffield United game and Valencia, but in terms of the way they’re playing I can definitely see an improvement.”
Liverpool FC head into Sunday’s clash with Chelsea FC looking to preserve their 100 per cent record in the Premier League this season.
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are looking to make it back to back wins in the Premier League for the first time this season after their 5-2 win at Wolves in their most recent top-flight outing.
