Tammy Abraham has admitted that he and his Chelsea FC team-mates need to take responsibility following their 2-2 draw with Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Blues looked to be in control of the game heading into half-time after Abraham scored twice in the first half to put Frank Lampard’s men firmly in control at the break.

However, the visitors scored twice after the break to level the game and earn a point to deny Lampard’s side back to back wins in the Premier League.

The result means that Chelsea FC have only taken five points from a possible 12 in their opening four games of the Premier League season.

And striker Abraham, 21, admits that Chelsea FC’s performance in the second half was not good enough from Lampard’s men.

Speaking in an interview with Chelsea FC’s website, Abraham said: “We are all disappointed with this draw.

“We’re Chelsea and no team should be able to come here and play better than us, and Sheffield United were better than us in the second half. It wasn’t good enough from all of us. I take responsibility as well being one of the players out there.

“We were gifted two goals in the first half and from there we should have killed the game off, come out in the second half and upset the opposition. We know Sheffield United will always fight till the end.

“We should have frustrated them, but them scoring an early goal in the second half didn’t help. From there we had to relax, calm everything down, and go out there and win the game.

“It just wasn’t our day. We have to go on the international break now and calm back down with all our heads focused and screwed on. We need to get these wins.”

Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action after the international break when they take on Wolves away from home on Saturday 14 September.

The Blues finished in third place in the Premier League table last term and will be looking to maintain their place in the Champions League qualification spots this time around too.
