Tammy Abraham fires Chelsea FC warning at Liverpool FC
Tammy Abraham is determined to help Chelsea FC bounce back against Liverpool FC on Sunday
Tammy Abraham has warned Liverpool FC that Chelsea FC are ready to “take their anger out” on the Reds in Sunday’s Premier League showdown at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat by Valencia in their Champions League group stage opener on Tuesday night as they suffered a loss in front of their home fans.
After Rodrigo gave the visitors the lead in the second half, Ross Barkley missed a late penalty to squander the chance to earn a penalty from the game as Frank Lampard’s men ended up without any points from the clash.
Chelsea FC do not have long to dust themselves down as they begin to turn their attentions towards their crunch clash with Liverpool FC at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
And Blues striker Abraham has revealed that he and his team-mates are determined to put things right when they host the Premier League leaders this weekend.
Speaking in an interview quoted by Sky Sports, Abraham said: “(Sunday) is a test of character. We can take our anger out against Liverpool.
“It’s a massive game and both teams will be going to win. We’ll look forward to putting (tonight’s defeat) right.
“It’s still early doors (in the Champions League). We’re fuming we lost today. But there’s still five games to go – we just have to win our next five.
“We’re obviously disappointed. We didn’t play our best football. Valencia came and stopped us playing the way we wanted so you have to give them credit.
“We’re going to have a lot of ups and downs in a season. We’ve got to move on and not dwell on it.”
Liverpool FC also suffered a Champions League defeat on Tuesday night when they lost 2-0 to Napoli away from home in the first game of their title defence.
The Reds have won all five of their Champions League games so far this season.
